Weekly Update

Not very weekly but oh well.
Last week we were just doing life drawing. thought it'd be just like how I had done it before, experimenting with different techniques, having to draw in the weirdest and most awkward ways possible. A few I had done before, but there were a few newer methods. Mainly our more 'animation' based method. First we had 5 minutes to draw a pose, then he moved and we drew on top of the existing drawing we had. and kept doing this until we only had 1 minute to draw the pose. I think I only really liked 1 of the drawings we did like this, I just kind of got lost within the lines I had already drawn so the others were more of a mess. Next we only had a minute to draw a walk pose, then 45 seconds, then 30....10.. and 5.
As fun as that was to do my drawings became stick figures by the time we were on to the 5 second poses.

Then we had the 'final piece' as it were, the final drawing on the last day. Which I did enjoy, I did it in the style of Mode 2, but mainly in the sense of the tone of the drawing, I wanted to do it on cardboard at first but didn't find any, but what i did work on turned out to be better than I thought, and in the end i was quite happy with not using cardboard.

Throughout the week I think I actually prefered my drawings from the start of the week; probably because we used charcoal and i really like the marks you can make using it. The rest were either a mess or just annoying to draw (I can't see the good side with drawing/ painting with a stick)

Now on to the next project i guess, I have a few ideas for an Esting, but I think I'm making it more complicated than I need to. Oh well, time to watch a few idents, will post what I look at soon.

C4D

Well I am pretty much done with it really, I have rendered out most of the scenes I have done, and only have 2 more to make... I think....I need to look over my storyboard again.

But apart from that I just need to edit everything in Final cut pro.
I also tried doing some sound effects, but audacity doesn't like me, and I'm not that creative.
Got a feeling I'm not going to be able to get any sound on it :S

Here are some screenshots of how I've set up some scenes
I'm sure these will all make you feel better about your own, as these suck to high heaven. Yay for being really sketchy.

More productive update

Seeing as my most recent updates have been me moaning about work, I'll talk about what it is I need to do.

I finished all my assets today, I just need to do alphas for my first scene again because it seemed to fail the first time I put it in C4D. Also need to do alphas for the last 2 scenes I drew today.
Everything else is ready for animating.

I've pretty much done the 2nd and 3rd scene, just need to redo the backgrounds. Which I'll do tomorrow and render out before doing the others.

....I think I'll be able to finish it on time....I'll even try and do a random bit of sound for it too. maybe

The Re-do

Well seeing as I decided I hated all the assets I had made, even though they were nearly ready to animate, I spent my weekend drawing out a whole new set of assets. (Seeing as I can't do work during the day because i get too distracted by anything, I worked at night to do these. I went to bed at 7am on Saturday (slept for 12 hours) and then didn't sleep at all until I thought I had done enough work, so finally went to bed at 6pm on the Sunday.)

All I need to do now is to draw the last 2 scenes and finish doing alpha things for last few scenes. Other than that my first 5 scenes are ready to animate, which I will be doing today.

I think I can safely say I wont finish the animation but I stopped caring a while ago. Just hope my first few scenes look okay enough.

Oh, and when it comes to sound design, I don't know if I'd get anything done, maybe I can just try and make up some music to go along with it, because I don't know where to start with sound effects.

Smoother Beginning Scene [character]

Made it look better, it use to just start with him looking through the scope straight away, decided it looked better this way.

I've done the alpha channels for these as well, so ready for Cinema 4D

New year update

After a good 2 weeks of doing....nothing..... I've decided I want to make my animation smoother.
This means I'm having to do a lot more assets, and with less than 2 weeks left, I think this is the worst idea I've ever had.
Also, I'm pretty sure I've managed to forget everything about Cinema 4D, so working with that after doing all these assets could go horribly wrong.
What I may do is do it all on photoshop.... I'll show some evidence of working on C4D, that should be enough.
Either way I'm gonna be doing a lot of drawing this weekend.

At the moment, if I get this animation done in time, I don't even care if I get a good mark. It'd just be finally over and done with!

can you tell my motivation for this project has died?
